What is Personal Independence Payment (PIP)


PIP is a benefit for people aged 16 to 64 that helps with the extra costs of a long -term health condition or disability.

It is non-means tested and is not affected by earnings, savings or other income.


Can I get PIP?

The Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) makes the decision about the amount of PIP you get and for how long.

To be considered for PIP, you have to be aged 16 - 64 and have a daily living and/or mobility needs and require extra help because of an illness, disability or mental health ondition.

PIP is made up of two components, daily living and mobility, each can be paid at either standard or enhanced rate.
